Part of a series called “Follage”, these Photogravure prints were conceived and captured at the Cairns Botanical Gardens. The original photos were used to create these richly textured photo etchings.

The plant forms have a connecting thread related to materiality, to object, and to preciousness.

Silvi collects, archives and records evidence of the beauty that surrounds us. These handmade Photogravure prints aim to waken our senses of sight and touch.

The Photogravure process brings with it elements that are unique. With texture, raised ink lines, embossing and hand-made papers. These elements contribute to creating an impact that can take the photograph into the realm of a beautiful object itself.
