Renegotiating The Landscape 2019 - 2022
‘Upside Down Country’ is a term often used by First Nations people to describe the environmental disruption of the land.
"Renegotiating the Landscape" deals with the issue of human intervention in the landscape across remote regions of the world. Although necessary to promote land wellbeing and look after 'Country', our interference with land resources are overwhelmingly destructive.
These prints are made using the Photogravure process. A combination of photography and traditional etching. The hand-made print allows one to work at a slower pace. It gives one the opportunity to consider and ponder the subject and intentions. The materiality of the photogravure objects echoes the preciousness of these landscapes that are being re-negotiated by our interference.
